Does your busy schedule keep you away from the Library during open hours? Get easy after-hours service at any time of the day or night with the new Holds Hoppers!
Place holds online or by calling a branch and pick them up from a secure locker at the Kisker Road Branch or Corporate Parkway Branch at your convenience. Holds Hoppers are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Please note that your library card must be current with no excessive fees to use a Holds Hopper.* Items will be held for 10 days, and can be picked up from a locker only if they fit inside.
Library staff assistance will not always be available to help with the Holds Hopper. Please contact the library during normal business hours if you have any issues.
*Student IDs, associated cards, online temporary cards, and some library card numbers (containing a “plus” sign) will not open lockers. Interlibrary loans must be picked up inside the Library or at curbside.
- We offer automatic renewals for every customer on every eligible item.
- Access your account to view and manage your materials. See your current checkouts, due dates, any fees or charges you have accrued, and items on hold.
- There is a limit of six renewals per item. Customers are liable for charges on overdue materials. Materials on hold for another customer cannot be renewed.
If we don’t have it, we will try to get it for you.
Materials not owned by St. Charles City-County Library (SCCCLD) may be borrowed from other libraries in the United States. Use the myLibrary Catalog to search for your item. If it is not available, adjust the Selected Resources to request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) through WorldCat Discovery.
ILL service is available to customers age 16 and older who possess a valid library card in good standing. (Card must be presented at both time of request and time of checkout.) Children and teen requests may be submitted by a parent or guardian on behalf of the child. Failure to pick up three requests in any three-year period will result in a suspension of ILL privileges. Click here for ILL policy.
